Stride Continues to Grow Portable Benefits with DoorDash Program Expansion in Georgia
Today, DoorDash announced the expansion of its portable benefits savings program with Stride in Georgia.
This is an exciting expansion of the first-ever portable benefits savings program that DoorDash and Stride launched in Pennsylvania last year. The momentum continues to build for portable benefits and Stride's platform with Shipt's (a division of Target) program in Utah, as well as the first Rideshare portable benefits program with Lyft launching this month. In their short tenure, these programs have already enhanced the financial security for thousands of workers who participate. A recent DoorDash study found nearly 90% of surveyed participants in their Pennsylvania program said it has been beneficial for them.
Through Stride’s portable benefits platform, participants receive contributions from participating companies into a personal portable benefits savings account. These dollars can then be allocated to the benefits most relevant to them such as health insurance, child care, emergency savings or retirement savings.
Portable benefits are gaining momentum across the state and at the federal level, and new legislation is being actively pursued in several states across the country in 2025. As a result, we’re seeing increased focus and attention from various working groups and organizations such as Patrice Onwuka of the Independent Women’s Forum who named recent progress in this area as one of the 5 best policies in 2024.
